Greece edition
What a page looks like
Short, practical facts, each one tagged with where it came from and when it was checked. The twelve chapters below are the same for every destination.
Get your tax number (AFM) first. Almost everything else, from a bank account to a phone contract, asks for it.
OfficialBook the residence-permit appointment as soon as you land. Island migration offices can run weeks out.
Official, Oct 2026You need an AMKA before a Greek doctor can send you an e-prescription. Sort it in your first month.
Lived, Oct 2026Many shops close on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday afternoons. Plan errands for the mornings.

What it does
- The whole move, in order
- Twelve chapters, from picking the visa to your first doctor’s visit, in the order you’ll need them.
- Every fact dated
- Each line says where it came from: official, consulate, lived, or research, with the month it was checked.
- The everyday stuff
- Groceries, trash day, laundry, driving, getting sick. The things nobody spells out.
- The honest part
- What went wrong, what cost more than expected, and what we’d do differently.
Why we built it
“I’m moving abroad, and every website says something different.”
Moving to Greece meant reading forums that contradicted each other and blogs from years ago. This guide is the one we wish we’d had: current, sourced, and written while it was all still fresh.
Where it stands
Greece launches January 2027. It’s written and being checked, chapter by chapter. More destinations follow.
Join the list and you’ll get it the day it’s out.
